How Long Will The Claim Take?
Medical evidence is the key.
Your injuries need to stabilise enough for doctors to be able to make a reliable prediction about your future.
Once that is done, you are then in a position to look to resolving your claim.
Most claims will be resolve by settlement but a few may need to go trial.
If your claim can resolve by agreement, then it generally takes about 3 months from when you become medically stable.
If your claim needs to go to a trial, then it will generally take about 1.5 years from when you become medically stable.
During our free initial advice and Case Assessment, we will tell you if we think your claim can be settled or not. We can also give you a better estimate of how long it will take.
Why is Medical Evidence Important?
Medical evidence is important for injury compensation claims. It is used to calculate your compensation.
To help get “good medical evidence” you should:
- seek treatment sooner rather than later;
- see your doctor(s) regularly;
- progress any treatment referrals quickly;
- fully describe all your symptoms to your GP.
We can give you tailored advice to help get proper medical evidence.
